WHANGANUI MAORI RUGBY – CALLING ALL MAORI RUGBY

140204164203EJIILPVO_tThe Wanganui RFU are calling for any/all Maori rugby players to attend the musters for the upcoming Te Tini A Maui Regional Maori Rugby Tournament, hosted in Palmerston North on 01 & 02 March 2014.

Dale Cobb CEO advises the attendances to date have been very disappointing and although the information has been shared and transferred, we always struggle to get buy in from the players. I understand this is a busy time for everyone, but I also know that we have a lot of our cultural brothers with talent to burn, and this opportunity is a perfect window to showcase that natural flair and talent.

We have the resource, coaches, communication and all that is required to provide support for a Colts team and a mens Open team, all that is required is the commitment from our members to become part of a great cultural sporting event.

Over the past three seasons, Wanganui Rugby has withdrawn their interest due to lack of numbers to represent. Every year we have this dilemma and as much as we are trying to revamp this activity, likewise we are not receiving full and total commitment to this specialism cultural rugby eventing.

The challenge is their, spread the word and see you all at City College, 6pm start every Tuesday of February 2014.
