We have two outstanding local rugby athletes who will represent their respective schools in Te Atuarere Albert (member of the 2013 Hurricanes Schools Squad), and first time for Brett Cameron, an outstanding player with talent on the rugby and cricket arena. Brett was selected for the NZ Marist Secondary School Squad in 2013.
It might sound like we are taking the Australian attitude and claiming rightful ownership, and we are, because we are proud of the achievements of athletes when they leave the region. No less than five other players have played rugby in their early years including schooling in Wanganui. This years camp definitely has a Wanganui origin flavor to it.
