message from the CEO ~ 2014 Junior Rugby season ~

Thanks to the grand efforts of Ken Carvell, we are in position to provide the first weeks draw for the start of the 2014 Junior Rugby season.

We always intended to run half fixtures for the U13 divisions but have decided with the numbers and mix of U12/13, will continue with previous grading procedure, with a maximum two weeks grading for U13.

It is still not too late to register players throughout the season so please remember to keep these rolling in.

McDonaldslogoGood news to deliver. The rugby balls, McDonalds Player of the Day vouchers and the McDonalds WRFU Code of Behaviour member cards have arrived. These will be distributed to clubs and schools at the Tuesday night committee meeting.

Reminder to the committee that we do assemble for the meeting at the WRFU offices next Tuesday. 6pm kickoff. Would be great to get 100% attendance as the season is nearly upon us.

The Junior Draw will be here online soon @ so stay tuned…

The first week of competition will commence the ‘McDonalds Wanganui Junior Rugby Team of the Week’. This is a strategic decision, and one certainly based on the tremendous support of our McDonalds Wanganui Director Darren Rowlands. The Kaierau Maroon  U8 team will be the first team awarded this special recognition. We look forward to this promotion during the season.

I will forward minutes and an agenda to all for next weeks meeting and look forward to your attendance all.

Activity is frantic at present in our offices so where possible, we will accommodate most requests to get the gear to you earlier. I will be away Friday and Monday so will not have a lot of time to issue gear after 4pm today.

Rippa Kits are the only equipment now that we are awaiting delivery.
