It’s take two for round 13 of Tasman Tanning premier club rugby tomorrow when last weekend’s postponed matches are played.
This weekend was originally set down as a bye round due to Wanganui’s pre-season match against Wairarapa Bush on Wednesday.
Of the four matches, two mirror potential semifinals, with leaders PGG Wrightson/Ballance Taihape hosting McCarthy’s Transport Ruapehu in what doubles as a Grand Hotel Shield challenge.
Having finally broken their Ruapehu curse in April, beating their northern rivals for the first time in 24 games, the home side will be looking to consolidate top spot and gain back-to-back wins over top four opposition. That game is at Memorial Park at 1pm.
Meanwhile, Waverley Harvesting Border coach Ross Williams has double motivation to see his side topple Integrity Motors Pirates. It would be a first win over the city side with him at the helm while a convincing one could see Border steal second spot.
Pirates will be looking to put in a much better performance than against Taihape a fortnight ago.
Utiku Old Boys must beat Harvey Round Motors Ratana to ensure a good first half of the season doesn’t count for nothing.
Dave Hoskin Carriers Marist and Wanganui Car Centre Kaierau meet at Spriggens in what should be another tight contest.
For the senior division the Hunterville vs Ngamatapouri match i will be the pick of the round.
