1ST XV RUGBY CO-COACH
Whanganui Collegiate School (WCS) has a long tradition of sporting excellence, and the school is proud of its success at the highest level in all sports. Our 1st XV is an important part of that success story. With our 1st XV playing in the well-established Central North Islands 1st XV Competition which sees well known rugby schools from Auckland, Hamilton through the Taranaki region into the lower North Island compete each year for the Taine Randell Cup. This along with a strong traditional fixture list and a Quadrangular tournament well over 100 years old sees a most comprehensive College 1st XV fixture list, underpinned by a structured rugby coaching programme, a dedicated strength and conditioning gym and coach and an onsite physiotherapy service. We currently have 4 rugby teams with our U14, U15 and 2nd XV playing in the Manawatu competition as well as playing several Traditional fixtures.
We are looking for a Coach to join our 1st XV Rugby coaching team for the 2022 season.

The position will include planning and delivering technical sessions, game analysis, training, and match day management of the WCS 1st XV Rugby Team in partnership with our Head Coach. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to coach some keen players within a school environment and develop their own rugby coaching under the guidance of our current experienced Head Coach within a strong secondary school competition and progressing to Head the coaching team the following season.
The position will also work collaboratively with the performance team, which includes a strength and conditioning coach, support staff and with the WCS Director of Rugby to deliver a structured rugby programme to the WCS 1st XV rugby team within the school environment and become part of our extensive sports coaching team.
This will be a fixed term appointment for 1-2 years in the first instance.
