MEDIA RELEASE
The Selection Panel of the Wanganui Heartland Team, has named a squad of 26 younger, less experienced players for the pre-season game against Manawatu B & Wairarapa Bush to be held at the Rugby Institute, Palmerston North on Wednesday the 24th of June.
Head Coach, Jason Caskey feels the two half games against these two teams gives the Coaching team & Selectors an ideal opportunity to test the younger players against tougher competition. With the Heartland Competition kicking off on the 22nd of August this early pre-season game will be treated as another trial for some of these players and gives them a chance to push for selection into the Heartland Squad.

Two training sessions are scheduled prior to the pre-season game on the 24th of June, as follows:
