The Wanganui Rugby Football Union have a goal to send a competitive Sevens team to the Hurricanes Regional Sevens Qualifying Championship in Palmerston North 5th December.
A key step in reaching this goal is selecting a talented squad from Wanganui Club Rugby players and School leavers from the 2014 season. With sevens now being a major code world wide we need to provide a pathway for our local talent.
On the 15th November the Wanganui Rugby Football Union will be running a one day tournament for one team from each club to compete in the Championship to identify Wanganui’s best Sevens Rugby Club.

Please Note:
- Clubs can only register one team.
- All players must be registered to a local club. You must represent the club you are already registered in current 2014 season.
- Registered players from outside the region / union, cannot compete in this competition.
- If you are not currently registered to any club in 2014, then it is the responsibility of the team contact person to register the player prior to the competition registration entry closing date of 31 October 2014.
- Local school students are eligible to play for a club.
- Entry Fee is $60, payable to the WRFU by the registration entry closing date 31 October 2014.
- Registration forms and handbook outlining the rules and regulations for this competition are available Wednesday 24 September 2014 from the WRFU Offices, or can be downloaded online from our WRFU Website wanganuirugby.co.nz
- The WRFU reserve the right to recover any administrative costs for team withdrawal after the registration entry closing date 31 October 2014.
